It seems like almost every celebrity these days has either already starred in a superhero film, or is in talks to join an upcoming film. Next on the list, Angelina Jolie.
Throughout her career Jolie has played video game characters (Tomb Raider), cartoon characters (Maleficent) and even starred in comic book movie adaptations (Wanted), but one thing she hasn’t done is play an actual superhero. That might be about to change however.
The Oscar-winning actress is now talking to Marvel Studios about starring in their upcoming film The Eternals. While the superhero team may not be as well known as say The Avengers, it is still very much a part of the Marvel Universe. It follows the story of a team of near-immortal beings known as Eternals and their enemies the Deviants. Not much is known about the film, other than it is being directed by Chloe Zhao. At this time it’s not clear which role Jolie is in negotiations to play either.
It was only a matter of time before Jolie joined the ranks of the superhero movie. After all she has been in several action movies throughout her career, and currently she is working on a sequel to Maleficent, which is being made by Marvel’s parent company Disney.
