Musicians are coming together to raise money for groups fighting to stop the spread of the coronavirus, and now Elton John is on board to host the event.
Fox and iHeartMedia have put together this special benefit concert called “The iHeart Living Room Concert for America”. Elton John will host the event, and it will feature performances from Alicia Keys, the Backstreet Boys, Billie Eilish, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mariah Carey, Tim McGraw, all from the comfort of their own homes. The musicians are filming their performances with their personal cell phones, cameras and audio equipment, and to make sure everyone keeps safe, they won’t be getting any professional help in that area. More performers are expected to be announced soon as well.
Fox will air the hour-long, commercial-free event on March 29, from 9-10 PM, EST. You can also catch it on Fox linear and digital platforms, as well on iHeartMedia radio stations and the iHeartRadio app. The timeslot in case you were wondering was originally for the iHeartRadio Music Awards’ which was postponed.
During the broadcast, which pays tribute to the front line health professionals and first responders, will encourage viewers to donate to the charities Feeding America and First Responders Children’s Foundation.
Other shows in the same vein are arriving too, including James Corden’s special coronavirus special edition of the Late Late Show.
